Mycenaeans

The Mycenaeans lived during the late Bronze Age in Greece from about 1600 to 1200 B.C. They are called Mycenaeans after their capital Mycenae. The period in which they lived Mycenaean known as the Late Helladic period.

The Minoans

The Minoans were a very advanced civilization for the times. They had a strong navy which is probably why the Greeks never succeeded in colonizing the Minoan people.The Minoan king lived in the capital city of Knosos in a maze of a palace with 1500 rooms. It was a gorgeous palace. But even poor people had 4-room houses with running water for drinking and bathing and bathrooms that flushed.

Mycenaen Religion

In many ways we know Mycenean religion for much of it survives into ancient greece in the Greek gods. But we really don't know how much of Greek religious belief is Mycenean, and how much is a product of the Greek Dark Ages or later. Like everything else about ancient cultures it is hard to reconstruct a religious system from only ruins and a few pieces of writing
